Ghanaian defensive midfielder Salifu Moro has joined Nejmeh SC from Libyan Premier League club Al-Taawon, completing a move to the Lebanese Premier League on 16 August 2026.
The 27-year-old, who was born in Tarkwa, is a right-footed midfielder and stands 1.91m tall. He arrives at Nejmeh after a brief spell with Al-Taawon, having joined the Libyan club in February 2026 after a period without a club.
Moros move to Al-Taawon followed his time with Egyptian club Ittihad Alex. He left Ittihad Alex in July 2025 before returning to football with Al-Taawon several months later. His previous clubs also include Ghanaian sides Bechem United and Medeama, as well as AFAD Djekanou in Ivory Coast.
The midfielder began his senior club career with Medeama before moving to Bechem United in January 2017. He later spent two seasons with AFAD Djekanou, returning to Bechem United in 2020. His performances there led to a move to Ittihad Alex in August 2021.
Moro has recorded 95 appearances, one goal and two assists in Premier League competition across his career. He has also made six appearances in the Libyan Premier League, scoring once and providing one assist, while featuring in the Egyptian League Cup, Egypt Cup, relegation play-offs and the CAF Confederation Cup.
His arrival gives Nejmeh a defensive midfield option with experience across competitions in Ghana, Ivory Coast, Egypt and Libya. The move also marks the latest stage of a career that has taken Moro from Ghanaian football to clubs in North Africa and now Lebanon.
Nejmeh have added Moro to their squad for the 2026-27 season, with the Ghana international listed to wear number 16. He joins the Beirut-based club as they compete in the Lebanese Premier League, completing his switch from Al-Taawon.
